Dear Partners & Friends,

Happy New Year! Seems hard to believe we are in the year 2022! We pray you had a great Christmas as we did. We were able to celebrate with Sarah’s mom on Christmas day and then we traveled to New Hampshire to be with Keith’s family for a few days. While we were there our daughter Rachel got engaged and we were able to be part of the surprise proposal! What a blessing it was! Now we are preparing for the new year and what God has planned for us to do in 2022.

December was a busy month as we collected gifts and delivered them to the families that were “adopted” for Christmas. We helped 22 families this Christmas with gifts for every family member and with food or gift cards and household necessities for some of the families. Family pets were even helped! It took four days to deliver all the gifts! A huge thank you goes out to all who bought gifts and wrapped them and to our board members who helped deliver them. We had many opportunities to pray and encourage these families and to start to develop relationships with them. Please pray that we will continue to hear from them and for more opportunities to show Christ’s love!

We also gave furniture to a single mother who just moved into a new home and had basically no furniture. Another fun opportunity presented itself when we took a birthday cake, balloons, decorations, and a gift to a boy whose family we helped with Thanksgiving and Christmas. It gave us another chance to talk to the family and get to know them better.

The Youth Development Center trip was another highlight of the month. We went with Amy Gotwalt and Brian Connolly from Faith Like Birds on a Saturday morning. We took breakfast, cookies for them to decorate and a game to play with the kids and then Brian spoke. We watched as God healed a boy with carpal tunnel issues and another boy had his back pain disappear. Another girl’s headache disappeared. We also were able to talk to the workers who also watched God move miraculously. We plan to go back this month to talk and hang out with the kids. They need people to love them unconditionally and to see God move in their lives!

House church is a fun time at Christmas!  We had a gift exchange that was competitive and resulted in some great gifts for everyone! Our fellowship always includes food and somehow at Christmas we always have lots of good food to share and enjoy. This year we added in some Christmas carol singing and Keith gave a short Christmas message. We are planning to actually do some Christmas caroling next year! In the meantime, we volunteered at our church Christmas outreach and were able to carol around the church neighborhood!

Matthew 5:14-16 talks about how we are the light of the world shining for Jesus.  This light must shine before man in such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven. Ephesians 2:10 says “we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them”.  These scriptures are at the core of why we are following what God has for us!  We want to see lives transformed and made whole again by the blood of Jesus.  Amen!

Needs:
*Baby clothes /Baby items
*Candy or snack bags and encouraging notes for the YDC kids, we spend between $3-$5 on each child and there are 16 kids.
*A 10’x10’ box trailer (this is for us to take hot food to the homeless) The cost is approximately between $4,000-$12,000 depending on the year.
*The cost for our logo to be painted on our Suburban is $400.00
*A storage unit or warehouse for furniture, household supplies and clothing. *This is becoming more imperative as we continue to expand with our giving and our donations

Prayer Requests

             *Continue to pray for the kids at YDC and for us when we go visit them. We are believing and praying for more miraculous encounters that lead them to Jesus!

            *For us to hear what God is leading us to do and to be obedient to his Words
            *Uganda-wisdom for timing for a future trip
