HEAVENS LIGHT HOUSE NEWS

Dear Partners & Friends,
 Last Thursday we received a call that one of the families we work with needed food. Because we were leaving for The Shout the next day (more about that next newsletter!) we quickly packed up food while making supper and sending our kids off to play lacrosse. Then we drove to Biglerville and dropped off the food and chatted with the family for a few minutes before picking up our daughter again at practice. This is life at Heavens Light House. This is ministry. It is never dull and often a little crazy, but we do it because this is what God has asked us to do. We do ministry every day and, in many ways, because we want people to understand God’s love. God has told us in His Word that when we draw near to Him, He draws near to us. He never says that He is too busy or too tired or that the timing is not right for Him to minister to us. This is what we want others to understand-we want people to see Jesus when they see us. Are we always good at it? No, sometimes we do not do this well. Just being honest! But. how grateful we are for God’s love and grace! We are also so thankful for those who volunteer by our side.
Last week was also our monthly Youth Development Center visit. We again played Minute to Win It games and we brought pizza fixings so they could each make their own individual pizza. This also gave us the opportunity to chat with the kids more one on one as we only had a few in the kitchen at a time. A lot of the kids have now been there for the last few months, so we are starting to know them better and we continue to share God’s Love with them each time we are there. We go on the fourth Monday of each month so the next time we are there is April 25th.
House church was a peaceful time at the Ross home. We shared a great meal, and then sang about the Greatness and Goodness of God. Keith shared What does it mean to seek after God? He reminded us to pursue God just in any old way, but that we should seek him with all of our hearts. Seeking God means “to orient oneself toward God and to pursue God rather than other goals”. When we pursue Him or seek Him there is something that happens! We get a reward according to Hebrews 11:6. Hallelujah! God is so good to us! He gives us a reward just for seeking Him and believing in Him! Be encouraged! Go after God with all your Heart!
Two families were helped this month with food and with furniture. We also continued planning and signing up people to donate Easter food, candy, and kids’ baskets for our Easter giveaway. If you would like to help deliver Easter fun to our families, please contact us. We will deliver the week of Easter. This is a great opportunity to share the love of Jesus and the hope of Easter in an easy-going manner.
 It’s yard sale season! We will have a yard sale on Saturday April 30th. Items to sell and volunteers are needed! This is a great way for people to be introduced to HLH and what we do. We have many opportunities to bless people, pray with them and make friends at these sales.

*A 16’ box truck for furniture pick up and delivery. Most of the people we give furniture to do not have a way to pick it up. Our being able to deliver it would be a big help to them.
*A storage unit or warehouse for furniture, household supplies and clothing. *We are losing our current storage as of JUNE 1st.

Prayer Requests:
*Continue to pray for the kids at YDC and for us when we go visit them. We are believing and praying for more miraculous encounters that lead them to Jesus!
*For us to hear what God is leading us to do and to be obedient to his Words
*We are planning to go back to Uganda in November. Please pray for our friends in Uganda to know how and where to have us serve. We do know we are having house church! Also pray for the finances for our family to go.
*We have another possible opportunity to minister in another kids home. Please pray for wisdom, timing, and volunteers!
